Free and Reduced Meal Benefits Applications Are Due!
Hey, Cardinals! All of the Meal Benefits Applications that have been submitted ONLINE have now been processed! If you submitted an application online, you will receive a letter in the mail with your student/s' meal benefit status. You can also review the decision for your application in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal by clicking "Message Center", then select the "Inbox" tab and scroll down to find a message labeled, "Your Meal Benefits Application has been processed". Click on that to open the message, and then view the attached letter with the decision.

If you turned in a physical copy of the Meal Benefits Application, I will process that the second it hits my desk so that your benefits will be effective ASAP! Once your application is processed, a decision letter will be mailed out to you. You can call any of the building office secretaries to find out your student/s' Meal Benefits status, or you can call or email me, Kari Vetter, at (573) 775-2175 or kvetter@steelville.k12.mo.us, or you can send me a direct message here on ParentSquare.
VERY IMPORTANT REMINDER: We cannot refund any charges that are made by your student before your Meal Benefits Application is processed. This means that if you wait until the first day of school, or later, to turn in your household application, meals for your student/s may be the PAID price, and even if your application is processed and you qualify for free or reduced this year, those charges will remain. To make sure this doesn't happen, please get your application submitted online ASAP, or drop off your physical copy by the end of the day today, Friday, August 15th, either at your student's building office or at Central Office. I will make sure every application that has been turned in is processed by Monday afternoon, and I'll check back one more time Monday evening to process any additional online applications, but I can only process what has been submitted!
If you are submitting a paper copy of the application, the following errors will prevent me from being able to process that application and will delay your decision:
1. Please make sure that ALL household members are listed, either in the top section for children or in the section below for adults. The number of names on the form MUST MATCH the number of household members filled in. (In Steps 1 and 3 sections)
2. The adult completing the application MUST include the last four digits of their social security number. (In Step 3 section)
3. There MUST be either a SNAP/TANF/FDPIR Case Number listed on the form OR their MUST be income information for the household. (In Steps 2 and 3 sections)
4. The adult who filled out the application MUST sign the application. (In Step 4 section)
